- For trades like Electrician, Fitter, Mechanic, Instrumentation, etc., candidates typically need to have a Class 10th (Matriculation) with ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in the respective trade from a recognized board or institution.
- Graduate Apprentices: A Bachelors’ Degree in any stream (like BA, B.Com, B.Sc, etc.) from a recognized university.
- Technician Apprentices: Diploma in Engineering in the respective branch from a recognized institution.

- Maximum Age : 24 Years
- IOCL provides age relaxation for the Apprentice position as per their regulations.
